Invalid User Authorization after server migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • I moved our CRM 4.0 Rollup 9 server from one server to another.  I moved the Organization_MSCRM db to the new server, then used Deployment Manager to import the db.  It gave an warning in the log file after about 12 hours of processing:

09:47:36|   Info| PublishReportsFromDatabase: Creating report in Reporting Services.  ReportId: {801c25db-afe6-dd11-be95-0015c55d2501}, Name: User Summary
09:47:50|Warning| Attempting to cancel a long running process: ProgressWizard. This might leave the data in an invalid state and the application might not function correctly.
    09:47:50|   Info| Organization (OurCompany) imported.
11:09:12|Warning| Attempting to cancel a long running process: FinishWizard. This might leave the data in an invalid state and the application might not function correctly.

And when I try to access the website, I get the following error:

    Invalid User Authorization
The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid.

Any suggestions?  I need to get this moved, the old HD is failing and timewise, I only can do it on the weekend.

    TIA

    Jim

  • Have a look at this KB and see if it helps.  You are going to want to get a clean import of the organization database since this is a production server.  Ensure that the user that is installing and importing the CRM application / Organization is a System Admin on the production CRM server.  Rather than trying to troubleshoot errors, I think it is important that you work through the import process until you have successful conclusion.  This will help ensure that your new production server is in good condition for use.

  • Have you added the new server to your trusted sites and/or set the authentication to Login with Current Username and Password in the IE Trusted Sites settings?

    This may help too http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950417

  • It was set to logon with my current username and password, and was in the intranet sites.

I did find that if I typed http//\servername:5555/organization, it would work, where as before I would just type http://servername:5555

  • Think you should check the default organisation for the user.

  • I can not log on as administrator to the CRM. I always get the message:

    Invalid User Authorization
The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid.
