WHS Remote Access

Question

Hi,
I've changed my router and now Remote Access isn't working on WHS. Its a Netgear DGND3300.
What do I need to do to configure it again?
Many thanks, its a while since I configured it on my previous router.
Regards,
Steve.

If your router supports UPnP, turn UPnP on and let your server take care of the configuration. Otherwise, forward ports 80, 443, and 4125 from your router to your server.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)Tuesday, May 25, 2010 9:13 PMModerator -
Hi Ken,
Good to speak with you again.
Ok UPnP was on, however since port forwarding the above ports the connection, it now shows REMOTE ACCESS AVAILABLE. However if I then click Details under the domain name link :- xyz.homeserver.com it says UNAVAILABLE. What do I do next please?
Regards,
Steve.
***UPDATE*** - One thing I have noticed, if I browse via my works PC to external IP of my router ie http://93.x.x.x it then directs straight to the website. Hmmmmm never used to do that last time. Just wanted the website to display via URL like it should.

Hi Steve,
you could try to unconfigure and reconfigure your domain in the Console under Settings/Remote Access.Best greetings from Germany

Just tried that to no avail :-(
When clicking on repair, it passes all tests apart from the last one - Verifying that your website is available from the internet.

This message can be normal, if your router does not support loopback (accessing a machine in your local network from your local network via Internet).
In this case the only chance to test this is accessing your home server from a different location.Best greetings from Germany
