How to use MS-Money 2002 .mny file under Win8.1? RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the best approach to using money 2002 .mny file under windows 8.1?

Note that I need only the checkbook register, payees, categories, etc., no online services except syncing with the bank via a downloaded .OFX file.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Money 2002 should install and run under either 32 or 64-bit Windows 8.1.

Otherwise, see the second post in this forum and install the appropriate regional version of Money. If you are in the US you may need to install Money 2005 as an intermediate conversion step.

  • I finally got around to trying this Dominic, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure at first because the compatibility chart says no dice for Money 2002 under Win 8; but it appears to be working fine so far for what I need to do.

    Much appreciated,

    Mark
