  • Question

  • hi all!

I recently bought and installed the enterprise 2007 for students,
after uninstalling unvalidated version of 2003.
i tried to validate it, but keep not passing it.
while looking through START menu, i've seen that outlook is still there, and wasn't removed ( i do believe that enterprise came without it), but couldn't be activated neither.
i tried to remove it manually, using the "remove program" option, but it was not there.
i am sure in 100% my new bought version is legit.
    how do i fix it?

  • Problem: The validation process could not be completed because a copy of Microsoft Office® on this computer has not been activated.

i am sorry for troubling you with this.
i followed the instructions, and was able to complete my validation successively.
    thank you!

    now i have another Q:
how do i remove the genuine star from my windows' running programs bar?

  • Hello itai79,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 100 Genuine
    Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 100 Genuine

    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
    Signed By: Microsoft
    Office Diagnostics: B4D0AA8B-604-645_025D1FF3-230-1_E2AD56EA-765-d003_E2AD56EA-766-0_E2AD56EA-134-80004005

Your Lenovo computer has a genuine retail license installation of Office Enterprise 2007 installed.

If you are still seeing nongenuine notices, it's most likely due to remnants of the old nongenuine installation of Office Professional 2003 that was previously on the computer.

Click on the notice, or on the Genuine Advantage star, and then select the Learn More Online link.  Clicking this link takes you to an informational Microsoft web page, and in the background it resets the OGA Notifier Utility installed on the computer and forces it to recheck the Office license files.  Let the recheck work in the background for about a minute, then close all programs and restart the computer.

After restart, visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button.  Your Office should validate normally.  Then open several Office programs, checking to make sure you no longer see nongenuine notices.  The Genuine Advantage star should also not be shown.

Post back to let us know how you did :-)
