  • It also depends on the type of OS you are going to use like

    For XP

              512 mb ram ddr 2
intel 945 or Intel D102 motherboard
P4 with HT or Core 2 Duo(depends on your budget)
              Combo or DVD Writer
              Seagate 80 gb hard disk

    For Vista

              1 gb ram ddr2
intel 945 or Intel D102 motherboard
P4 with HT or Core 2 Duo(depends on your budget)
              Combo or DVD Writer
              Seagate 80 gb hard disk

If planning to buy an assembled PC you can go for COMPAQ or Ht or DELL

Really!! My friend recently (1 month back) brought a computer with nearly the same configuration (the only difference from what you stated was that he got Intel 915GL)... It costed him more than Rs. 35,000...

  • No way. Probably you are talking about C2D E6300. It is E4300 which is around 3k cheaper than E6300. Above config can be under Rs. 20,000/-

  • If you have quite good experience with computers, and know about a bit about each hardware, and know how to format, troubleshoot, get an assembled one.

I think assembled ones are good for home users who has good knowledge about computers.

For Organizations, and official use, and also for newbies, branded PCs are the best suitable

I think go for HP or Dell if its a laptop and HP if its a Desktop.
