  • Question

  • Is there a way to show Manage Users but not Manage Groups for a user in Server settings (PS 2010)

We have some department admins (a new group) that must manage users. They need to add the user's AD logon account. But "Resource can logon to Project server" is only available when the Global Permission "Manage Users and Groups" is checked. This then allows them to edit their Group's Global Permissions and add all of the functionality back in that we removed.

So is there a way to to either add the user's AD credentials without having "Manage Users and Groups" permission ? Or is it possible to add just "Manage Users" permission ?

    Regards

  • I think you are correct. You cannot separate out Users and Groups. I think you will have to handle this through a process.

May be you can let then add the 'resource' to the pool, along with the AD Logon account, let you (Super Admin), know and then you can check the box to allow them to logon.

  • Isn't the AD Logon account only visible after Logon to Project server check box has been checked ?
