HPC Node Manager Service Stops, Even After Manual Restart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

First let me apologize for not really knowing what I'm doing. Unfortunately, our group doesn't currently have anyone who can help us. We have an 8 node cluster (1 head + 7 compute) running Windows HPC Server 2008. After the initial install and setup it seemed to be working fine. Our Security Manager was trying to configure Node 1 (to meet specified requirements) and now Node 1 is unreachable. One of the issues we've discovered while trying to figure this out is that the HPC Node Manager Service won't stay running, even if we manually start it. Can anyone give me advice, links, or steps to figuring out and solving this problem?

  • Can you provide any details of what your security manager did prior to experiencing problems?

If all else fails:  start over and note the steps taken by your security manager in case it breaks again.
