SyncToy downloading issues: Need Resolution

  I have a Dell Latitude running Windows XP (it's only 2 years old) and tried to download SyncToy 2.1.  I got this error screen (whoops, no place to add an image).  It reads:

  Component MS Sync Framework 2.0 Core Components has failed to install with the following error message:

  "A fatal error occurred during the installation of Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0 Core Components."

  The following components were not installed:

  -MS Sync Framework 2.0 Provider Services

  The Following components failed to install:

  -MS Sync Framework 2.0 Core Components

  See the setup log file located at . . . ."

   

  I use synctoy on my Windows7 machine without a problem.  I tried searching for the uninstalled piece and installing them and got error messages as well.
