"Windows is not Genuine" RRS feed

  • I have been using my Windows 7 Ultimate for almost 9 months and yesterday it suddenly went Windows is not Genuine.

    Any idea why ? And apparently the product key is also blocked.

  • Looking at the existing report, the installed Key is a COA_SLP Key only valid on computers from large manufacturers. (It's the backup Key to the OEM_SLP Key). As such it is unlikely to be valid on a Retail motherboard

    If you purchased this Key retail, then it's counterfeit

  • The report here is showing a non-genuine Blocked Key which means it is a counterfeit install.  You can try to use the Product Key from your COA Sticker.  The OS installed has to match what is listed on your COA Sticker as well.  Otherwise, you will have to purchase a legal copy of Windows, format your hard drive and install it.  Be sure to back up your data first.

  • Yesterday when I type in the product key it will always say that Windows is not Genuine. So I decided to reformat and back up the files. And this morning I wanted to format it and somehow Windows is activated again.
