This isn't a problem for me (yet) but I thought it would extpand on what has been said.
I have Vista Home Basic.
When I installed Windows Live OneCare a week ago, McAfee Security Center was active. The install program detected that McAfee was present and presented an option to uninstall it as part of the OneCare install process. I agreed and it went ahead and completely unistalled McAfee then proceded to install OneCare.
So far there are no problems and McAfee is nowhere to be seen. Is this now the normal McAfee unistall process or should I expect problems?

There should not be any issues related to the McAfee uninstall. McAfee may have updated their uninstaller or the product just may have uninstalled cleanly. Uninstall tools are not always needed to uninstall security products.Monday, June 23, 2008 1:32 PMModerator

First try removing McAfee Security Center using add/remove programs. Then run the McAfee uninstaller - http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exeMonday, July 14, 2008 1:28 PMModerator
