Mesh and Windows 7 starter RRS feed

  • Question

  • Simple questions (I hope): If I buy a netbook with Windows 7 Starter edition, can I run Mesh, which I already run on my laptop and desktop. I would only need it for syncing documents to the netbook, not for the remote desktop.

If Mesh is a problem on the netbook, would Windows Live Sync be a better option for that simple purpose and could Sync run alongside Mesh on, say, the desktop?

  • There should be no problems with either Live Mesh or Live Sync on the netbook.
Yes, both can be installed on the same machine, but don't sync the same folder with both services. If you sync documents today with Live Mesh between 2 machines, then you don't want to sync documents on the netbook and either of the other devices using Live Sync as this will cause conflicts and possible data loss.

  • Many thanks. If Mesh works, that's ideal.
