Geographically blocked PID. So I bought new key on MS Site. Now it wont install!

Question

As title, have bought myself a key from Microsoft but it now tells me there is a possible write error or a full disk. I have ensured neither of these problems are in fact teh case. I have over 100GB spare.
Maybe this info will help?

Hello Stewart,
You didn't give me allot of information about the situation, so I have to make some assumptions
I assume that because you had a Geo Blocked VLK key, you bought a Retail key directly from Microsoft. You then tried using the Product Key update tool (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/XPPkuinst.aspx) to swap out the VLK for the good Retail key, but you get an error of some sort.
In addition, I see from your Diagnostic Report that your XP has a number of files showing as Modified or Corrupt (one of them is the kernel32.dll, arguably the heart of Windows).
Most likely, the two issues are related. I suspect that you couldn't swap out the keys because (for whatever reason) the modified/corrupt files are preventing it.
I strongly recommend backing up your importent files, off the computer, and doing a clean install.
Thank you,

Hello Stweart,
Piggybacking on Darin's answer, when you purchase the WGA Kit you get a new valid Product Key emailed to you immediately, and you will get a genuine hologrammed CD in the mail in a week or so. To prevent recontaminating your computer, please do the clean installation of XP with the new, genuine CD ONLY!!!
Good Luck :-)
