Can I Recover My System Disk From a Previous Version Restore CD? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought my WHS back before Power Pack 2 was released, so my server recovery CD (which I'll use when I have to replace my system drive... I think it's on the way out) is from, I think, Power Pack 1 time. Of course, I've updated the server to Power Pack 2 since getting it.

If/when the time comes, am I going to have problems trying to do a server recovery from that CD? If not, awesome. If so, where can I get a later disc for recovery so I don't have problems?

Thanks in advance - I want to have all of my bases covered for when The Great System Drive Replacement comes.

  • You should be able to restore with the version you have. You can also visit the Windows Home Server Solution Center, where you'll find a link to allow you to download the very latest version of the Restore CD.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
