Can not activate windows after re-install. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought this computer from Best Buy. It comes with a Windows 7 Professional 64bit. For some reason it does not have a Product Key sticker on the machine. So I had to use a software called "Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder" to find out the key and did a re-installation.

However I could not activate the installation afterwards. Please help! Thanks.

Unless you used the built-in Recovery system for your PC to do the reinstall, the OEM_SLP key you found with the Magical Jelly-Bean will not work - it relies on certificates only present in the recovery disk.

Your Lenovo may  have the COA Sticker you need inside the battery compartment. If there was no key on the machine, BestBuy/Lenovo should NOT have sold it with Windows installed.
