I run Windows Ultimate and didn't have problems until today. When trying to validate, I got a Code 0x80070426 error. Reading some of the forum posts, I tried a number of steps (listed below), but it didn't help.
At a command prompt (run as system administrator), I tried: net start slvc
What I got was: System error 3 has occured.
Then I tried: sfc /scannow
And the response was: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
Thanks.
