Not vaild after two years????

Question
-
I have had my laptop for 2 years now ( I bought my computer from Dell's website). I was out to dinner and I came home and my computer was off. When I turned it on, it started like normal and let me log in under my user name and password. But then a black background appears and a message saying my version of Microsoft Windows Vista is not vaild. It will only let me access my computer with limited functionality. I don't even really understant what is wrong because my computer has been completely fine for two years now. Now one I know has had this problem before. I'm just really unsure of what I should do. Any help is appreciated!

Hello disneylover07,
There appears to be a problem with Vista's Licensing Store.
Below I have provided two sets of steps. Try the first set and if it does not resolve the issue, try the next.
1) Click the option that opens an Internet Browser2) A Browser will open, type: %windir%\system32 into the address field
3) Find the file cmd.exe
4) Right Click on the cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: cscript %windir%\System32\slmgr.vbs /ilc %windir%\System32\licensing\ppdlic\Security-Licensing-SLC-ppdlic.xrm-ms
6) Hit the Enter key
7) Reboot 2 times
1) Open Internet Browser
2) Type %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
3) Find the file CMD.exe
4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
9) Type net start slsvc
10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
11) Reboot Twice
12) You may be asked to enter a Product Key, type the key found on the sticker on the side or bottom of your computer.
Thank you,
Darin MS

Hello disneylover07,
In order to receive the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the “Windows” tab, and click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
If you do not have access to the Start Button:
1) Login to Vista and click the option that brings up an Internet Browser.
2) Type: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 into the browser address bar.
3) A window will come up asking if you want to “Run” or “Save”, Select “Run”
4) When the program runs, click the “Continue” button, then click the “Copy” button.
5) Return to this thread http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/6fa8b4c0-c74c-4f98-ba73-c5879b5c2feb.
6) In a reply post, paste the Diagnostic Report.
