Remote Desktop Only RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I use an alternative sync service than Live Mesh just because I need more space.  However, I would like to use the remote desktop feature.

There are no files or folders being shared with Mesh so if I were to keep Live Mesh running alongside my current synchronising software would there be a performance issue or conflict?

Could I switch off parts of the software which handle the file monitoring?  I only ask because some software I've used in the past used to constantly poll (scan) a directory for changes, therefore using resources.

I know there are other free services online which specialise in remote control but I would prefer to use Live Mesh as I'm sure the limit of 5GB will increase in time and I like the idea having all-in-one.

    Thank you.

  • If you install Live Mesh and do not share any folders from your PC through Live Mesh, I don't expect that you'll encounter any issues. The issues arise if your try to sync the same data using Live Mesh and another solution.
If you don't share any folders to your Mesh, there is no file monitoring, but you should then still be able to use the Remote Desktop feature from other PCs or the Live Desktop to your PC.
