How many servers do I really need to run Office Communications Server 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • To support limited beta environment, would like to now if I can use one server [one computer] for Office Communications Server 2007, Standard Edition Server configured as Front End Server and Web Conferencing Server and as a Web Conferencing Edge Server.  Goal is to evaluate Web Conferencing with external access to on-premise Web conferencing.

  • Hi

I believe you will need a minimum of two servers for your scenario, you cannot install an edge server and OCS server onto the same machine.

  • RAM, some network interfaces and Virtual Server would do it Smile

  • Tommy,

I was thinking in virtualize my production environment installing OCS and AD in a VM. The usage is only for videoconferency and the AD has only 11 users. Do you think that this will work fine?

    Tks.
