Windows 7 Professional N product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • 'Windows 7 Professional' key is given within our Microsoft Partner downloads portal however it doesnt work for 'Windows 7 Professional N' which we installed. Is there another key that should be provided to us? or is there a special way to activate this?

  • I would recommend going to the support section of the https://partner.microsoft.com/  site or contact the in house administrator of your Partner account or the Partner Rep for your company for assistance.

    Thank you,

  • As Darin said, you need to contact your partner program, not just log in.  No one here can provide a key.

  • A genuine Windows 7 Professional N product key will only work with an installation performed using a genuine Windows 7 Professional N installation disc.

  • You must use only a Windows 7 Professional N product key with the Windows 7 Professional N installation disc.

  • You need another key.  The EU versions of Windows have their own keys.

  • We did use the Windows 7 Professional N media to install the OS however the key provided doesn't work. How do we obtain it.

  • I had the same problem, and I don't see that anyone solved it.  I tried the support and they sent me here.

Please post your own problem to your OWN NEW thread – where it can be dealt with properly.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
