Using Communicator and Outlook without Exchange (Outlook integration error) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’m testing OCS 2007 with Communicator 2007. We want to implement OCS in our company but we’ve got a Kerio mail server instead of an Exchange server. Every time when I log on to communicator  it displays the integration error saying “Your outlook profile is not configured correctly”.  Side effects of this include being unable to search for Outlook contacts in communicator, reverse number lookup failing for Outlook contacts when making a phone call in Communicator,  presence not lighting up in Outlook,  and others.

I tried the office 2007 hotfix and the policy or register setting to disable the e-mail comparison check. But none of them fix the problem.

Is it possible to integrate communicator in outlook successful without using an Exchange Server? How do I configure it?
