Please help! I am affraid of deleting the wrong file types which are on our computer which was once city owned & refurbished. Computer safety w/documents and performance. The loads of hidden/read only files boggles the mind. The ones which I'm asking about date back over 2 years. It is essential at this point to learn which types of files to delete w/out corrupting anything would be such a help. Locating C:\WINDOWS file name: $hf_mig$UninstallKB where the KB size is using several thousand files. The file names start as: $NtUninstallK which plenty others exist with the size being varied.

The files you mention are hotfix and service pack uninstallers. If you need the disc space you can copy the uninstallers to a dvd or other removable media then delete the uninstallers from your hard drive.
