Canadian vs Us $ charges $10 bucks extra for One Care RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why does One Care charge $10. more for the same product? Our dollar was .98c yesterday to the US dollar. When a credit card is charged there aren't any extra penaltys. I could see tacking on a buck but $10 seems like a grab to me. Books i can see because there is shipping involved but a credit card over the internet with instant subscription? No way eh! I can't be the only Canadian POed at this. If all Canadians said no Microsoft's income would decline drematically. I like this product but may install another one that isn't $60.

  • I just found your post in the Off Topic folder and moved it to General.

Pricing for OneCare (and other products) is set per Region based on any number of factors. I don't know the specific reasons for the higher price, but suspect it has to do with support costs and distribution for the retail CD. The online price is the same as the local region's suggested list price.
