Windows 7 MCE Movie Library not updating

Question
-
HI,
I've setup a Windows 7 RC 32bit (build 7100), using Media Center. Most of it works fine. Only problem is that it seems the Movie Library in Win7MCE does not update correctly when the files in the share/folder is changed.
The setup is as follows:
WHS:
Media Sharing Disabled for Video/Photo/Music shares (I have no extenders)
Media Center Connection enabled for a number of shares, including two shares where my movie files are stored. These two shares have duplication turned off.
Win7MCE: Media Library was first set up to include one the two shares in WHS in the Movie Library. Some time later the other one was added
When I first set up the Media Library option in Win7MCE, it found most (may be all) of the movie files in the first movie share. Then I moved around a number of files, and changed names of some of the files in that share, and added the other share in the library. Then the Movie Library in MCE seems not updating, and still shows all the files that are no longer there, or showing the old name of the files which I've changed the name.
The Photo and Music Library in Win7MCE seems work fine.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem, or WHS problem.
I had Windows 7 RC 64bit installed sometime ago and it seems work better but I couldn't verify.

Did you try rebooting both client and server? How about disabling/reenabling the shares your Media Center PC has access to?Monday, June 15, 2009 11:29 PMModerator -
Thanks for the reply.
I did retooted client a number of times. There was one client reboot resulted a limited update of the library (added a few more files).
Don't think that I have rebooted WHS since I changed/moved the files (I changed/moved the files on another pc). I'll try reboot WHS tonight when I get back home.
However do I have to reboot every time when some file is changed?Monday, June 15, 2009 11:45 PM -

As I recall, I had that problem once as well. I think I rebooted both (but I can't remember now). Anyway, after I rebooted, it's worked fine for me ever since.Tuesday, June 16, 2009 12:46 AMModerator -
Tried server reboot, client reboot, clean re-install of Win7. Still not working properly. Tried Win7 64bit it's the same.
It seems to me that the Movie library in Win7 Media Center is not working very well with the Media Center Connector in WHS, unlike the Music, Photo and Video library, which automaticallly connect to WHS without any setting required. The Movie library in Win7MCE need to have folder/shares manually added, but the update stops somewhere and stuck.
Is there a known issue about the interworking between Win7MCE and WHS Media Center Connector?

None that I'm aware of. My suggestion would be to file a bug report on Connect (and sooner rather than later as 7 RTM is quickly approaching :) ).Wednesday, June 17, 2009 1:51 AMModerator -
I find the same happening RTM; I've got a fresh install of MAPS 7 Business and network folders of movies doesn't update if filenames are changed or movies added.
Also all movies are listed in a new 'all you can eat' view not showing contents in subfolders seperate but in a single main view.
this makes new MCE a tad irritating ...
