CRM 4.0 Mail Merge Microsoft Word doesn't open RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I have a customer where they are able to setup a Mail Merge ok in CRM but when they click 'Ok' nothing happens and Word doesn't open.

    I have confirmed that this is not caused by a User not having the correct CRM security role. I have also tried running a Diag trace on the PC but all this shows is that an error has occurred and doesn't give any further information. I have also checked Event Viewer on the PC but this doesn't show any errors.

    Can anyone advise a fix or a logging tool I can use to get more information?

  • This sounds like it's more of a client-side issue than a server-side one. I don't know of any useful looging tools to help diagnose this, but some questions to ask are:

    • Is this an issue on all machines, or just some ?
    • Is the behaviour different between using the CRM web client, or the Outlook client ?
    • What version of Office is installed on the client ?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Have tested several machines and the issue has occurred on all.

    It has only been tested with the CRM Web client, but should this make any difference as I understand Outlook would just use IE?

    Office 2003 is installed.
