Windows Mail - Slow to open attachments

I am having problems opening up attachments when using Windows 10 Mail (not Outlook). It seems to take several minutes to convert the attachment to be able to open it. Appears to happen to all file types I have received, pdf's, excel and word. How can I resolve this problem
