windows vista key not valid after vista os was reinstalled on same system RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello.

i had to reinstall my os which was windows vista home premium 32 bit. windows said my activation key is invalid,

im installing what was on there before on the same system. i had to reinstall windows because my system was very slow,

was not responding to any commands, and was full of malware that no malware and virus

removal tools could get rid of. i was informed that the only way to fix my computer problems was to reinstall windows.

i was able to find some of my drivers from C:/Windows.old so i could get the the microsoft support.

i dont see why the windows activation key would be not working. i am wondering why my system would

reject the activation code. the code was the same one that was used with windows before i reinstalled it.

  •  You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.
