Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant and %PATH% RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Since installing the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant from Windows Update, my %PATH% environment variable is corrupt.

It has changed from the default, that should start with %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%; to one starting with %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;.

I am pretty sure this is not in accordance with Microsoft Windows development guidelines, and it could cause problems if there end up being files with the same base name as system files.  The Windows Live developers should be made aware of this so that they can correct it.
