OCS Update Service Admin pages not working RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I followed the deployment guide but fail to get the admin pages working.  I receive the 'please contact your administrator' warning without any extra information in the event viewer.

On the Sharepoint (!) server I see the following logs for IIS:

It is providing HTTP error 500 errors to the update service so I think the issue is there. I checked all the files in the microsoft shared directory in common files and they are there. I also configured the access permissions in sharepoint as requested in the document.

When I visit the page using a browser all the requested files are there.

    Any hints?

  • In my case it was a problem with identity within the IIS Service on the OCS Standard Editon Server.

    1. IIS -> Apllicationpools -> LSGroupExpAppPool -> Properties -> Identity -> the User should be RTCComponentService

    2. IIS -> Apllicationpools -> UCdeviceUpdater -> Properties -> Identity -> the User should be RTCComponentService

Restart the IIS Service and don't forget to start the OCS Service afterwards.

    Regards
