  • I don't understand the question in your second post, but you may be able to find out the answer at http://alerts.live.com

Your first post indicates that when you click the link to subscribe or activate, you get the signin prompt and then the message to continue online. Is Internet Explorer your default web browser? If not, please make it the default web browser for the activation process. Are you connected to the Internet when you start this process? When you sign in, does Internet Explorer open? With Internet Explorer open, select File from the menu. If the menu bar is not visible in IE7, press the Alt key to make it appear. Is there a check mark next to Work Offline in IE under the File menu? If so, uncheck it.

  • I'm not sure what the bit about alerts has to do with the problem and I'm not sure if you are trying to activate OneCare or not. I think you are.

Please see this KB article for general installation and activation troubleshooting - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/910656

If you are still unable to activate, contact support. Use the option that you are a trial/ or beta user to get to the email support form.
