I got the new acer easyStore and connected to my home network. Initially my windows vista PC could not find the server. After following the instructions in earlier the thread by holden, about using server recovery CD, I was able to find the acer server. (thanks much for the info. It did save me some frustration). But now after performing server recovery, I am not able to install connector software. When I insert first installation cd after it finds the server, and displays that the download has started from the server, and after a minute or so, I get the message that it cannot be downloaded at the time and call the product support. Has anyone run into similar problem? Any help is appreciated.
Hi, after the server is upgraded, you should use the most current client on your server. You should be able to download this from http://yourservername:55000 Did you complete already the initial setup after reinstall (assign a name and a console password to the server)?
Also before a server reinstallation you should uninstall the already installed Connector software from the client, which initiates the server recovery, because newer versions of it are not compatible to the original installed WHS build.
Best greetings from Germany Olaf
