  • Question

  • Hi

We have two forest of Windows 2008 R2 abc.com and xyz.com, both foresst are consist of only sigle domain and both forests domain have users accounts. Now CRM is installed and implemented in domain abc.com and we want to give permissoin to users of domain xyz.com to use CRM application which is running in domain abc.com.

Will it be enough if we create a one way trust relationship between abc.com and xyz.com. The abc.com will be resouce domain and xyz.com will be account domain. Or we have to created two way trust relation ship for above setup configuration.

    Thanks

    Damar

  • This states a one way trust can exist http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699704.aspx

Be aware though that I do not think users details get pulled through from the other domain so you will need to add them manually after populating the domain name in the user form.

The detail for you scenario is as follows...

    • When you add multiple users who are located in a domain that is a different one than the domain where the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server is located, you must have one of the following conditions:

      • A one-way trust in which the domain where the users are located trusts the domain where the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server is located.
      • A two-way trust between the user’s domain and the domain where the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server is located.
    • The user information will not appear on the User form when you add users to Microsoft Dynamics CRM who are located in a remote domain that does not have a trust to the domain where Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server is located. For more information, see The user information is not automatically populated in the required fields when you add a user to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
