For years, I backed up my system with Windows Live OneCare. It was not that long ago that OneCare went by the wayside. What? Two years? In a mere two years all of my backups are lost forever? ? ? I don't get it. There's
an entire Forum on the topic. I've read and tried everything I can but still no success. Can someone plz help?
I installed MS Security Essentionals about 18 months ago and I unistalled Live Onecare at that time. Three days ago I needed to restore some files off of those Live Onecare backups.
I wanted to make sure I was starting from a clean slate so I made extra sure that I uninstalled everything I could find related to OneCare. I then ran the recommended "cleanup" tool. I then took down my firewall (MSE) and got a fresh download
of the Live OnceCare Backup Restore Tool. I installed the tool three times FROM SCRATCH and it doesn't work. I get a yellow error about "Restore cannot start" "Restore cannot continue. Please restart your machine
and try again. If the problem presists, contact support". I'm running Vista. I run all the above as "Administrator". Can someone plz help? ? ?!! I've got MANY GB's worth of data I need back. Isn't that why we do "supposedly"
safe backups all the time?! These are backups from just two years ago!
