Cloned hard drive now getting Windows 7 Validation errors

Question
-
I replaced my hard drive with a bigger one and used Acronis to clone my hard drive. Now I keep getting a Windows 7 validation error and lots of Windows features do not work. I can't search on the machine and it won't do a Windows update. When I go under My Computer, Properties, it says my copy of Windows is already Validated. I try to download and validate again and keep getting errors. Any help would be appreciated. I really want to avoid reinstalling my operating system and losing all my personalizations. =] Thanks in advance.
I have a Dell Latitude E5500, Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit operating system. Not sure what else you would need to know.

See if the system file checker can repair any of the files.
Click Start, type 'cmd' in the Search/Run box, and right click on the CMD icon at the top of the results pane. Select Run as Administrator. When the cmd window opens type 'sfc /scannow' at the prompt and hit Enter. When the scan completes close the cmd window.
If you don't have a Dell recovery disk now is a really good time to order one.

Is the new hard drive a solid state drive?
Please observe announcement 1 above.
