    11. Tried some of these from the CMD line but no dice.
    12.  Tried to install the WI 3.1, but OS will not let me.  Says I don't need it because update pkg is newer.
    13.  Tried to uninstall the WI 4.5, then install WI 3.1, but get the same message.
    14.  Can I somehow download stuff from the CD, edit the .INF file in some way & run from there?
    15. If so, what should the edit look like?  Is there another way to use the older WI service??
WHAT CAN I DO?? Please Help.
    Thanks

  • Hi,
seems setup.exe file uses a syntax, which is not supported by Windows Installer 4.5.
(Would be a case for the HP support.)
You can try to open a command prompt on the XP machine and enter following command:
    msiexec /i d:\whsconnector.msi WHSMSI="RUNSETUP"

This should initiate the connector installation (did in my test with the mentioned image).
I had no unconfigured HP system here, so I cannot tell if the following sequences work as expected.
