  • Mineau,

Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum.

    Try running this clean-up tool:

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/c/b/4cb845e7-1076-437b-852a-7842a8ab13c8/OneCareCleanUp.exe

    Then reinstall OneCare.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum.

  • Mineau, download and save the cleanup tool to your desktop - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2

Go to Srart>Run and enter "msconfig" without the quotes in the Run box. When the System Configuration Utility opens select "Diagnostic Startup" on the General tab. Click Apply and OK. Restart your computer. Go to Control Panel>add/remove programs, look for Windows Live One Care and uninstall it. Then right click the cleanup tool, select "Run as Administrator" and run the tool. After running the cleanup tool launch the System Configuration Utility again and select "Normal Startup" and restart your computer. If uninstalling fails again please contact support. Windows Live OneCare was not listed in the add-remove programs, but is listed in CStick out tonguerograms folder. I have the cleanup tool file in My Dowmload file,

and when I run it I get the" Windows Live OneCare Tool has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Also if I try to install Live oneCare from my disk, I get:

"Windows Live OneCare is already installed."

To run the cleanup tool, save it to your desktop and right click the downloaded file and select "run as administrator." It isn't mscong, it is msconfig - which is a utility to review and change startup programs.

If you are still unable to remove OneCare, please contact support.
