Off Topic: Help with deleting files that do not exist! RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I am facing a problem with deleting a particular file. The file was created when I compressed a folder in the .RAR format. But instead of the compressed file being created, a weird kind of file was created which has no extension. When I try to delete it, windows says that the file does not exist.

When I open the properties of the file, I get the following data

    Location: C:\Desktop

    Size: 0 Bytes

    Size on disk: 0 Bytes

No creattion date or modification date is given. Even when i try to move the file to some other location, I get the same error, that the "File can not be found. This is no longer located in C:\Desktop. Verify the item's location and try again."

I want to know that why is this happening and how can I remove this file from my system without having to format my hard disk. Please help me.

    Thank you!
