Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 RTM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Will there be an update for SP1 to the RTM version on WHS 2011? Right now it still has the RC of SP1 on it and you can't install the RTM over top of it and you can't remove the SP1 RC. Any thoughts or ideas?

Not likely, however the RTM version of WHS 2011 should have the RTM version
    of SP1 installed.

  • My guess is that the version of Service pack 1 that is with WHS 2011 is the RTM version.  I'm pretty sure Microsoft had access to it before we did.

  • They may have had access to it, but the RTM version is not with the WHS 2011 RC. When you try to install the RTM SP1 it errors out and tells you that there is a pre-release version installed already and to remove it and try again. But you can't remove it...just wondering...not a big deal because we should see a final for WHS 2011 in the coming months right?

  • I would also guess that RTM WHS 2011 would have the RTM sp1..

We can know. There is no way that Microsoft would ship an RTM product that
was based upon a non-RTM service pack.
