When adding site: "The web address isn't valid."

Question

When adding the domain www.doubletongued.org to the webmaster console, I get the error "The web address isn't valid." The web address *is* valid. It's a legitimate, real site that's been online for more than three years. It's an online dictionary. Why would I get that message?
I see that someone else had a similar problem:

Grant,
I see your site in the index and I agree that it should be working. We have seen this kind of problem with sites outside of the US, but not in the US. Could you give me your repro steps in more detail? If you found a bug, I want to know what I can do to help fix it.
Thanks

I have the exact same problem but the site I am adding is a month old only, though it is already visible in the index of major search engines. I am trying to add http://www.wordofhopevalenzuela.com, when I click submit, I notice that it truncates the http:// but still it is a valid address and it gives me the "The web address isn't valid." error.
I use a Live ID outside the US, I don't know if that is the problem.Tuesday, December 4, 2007 2:52 AM -
I have the same problem with my site: http://www.talebooks.com This problem occurs also with my second website http://www.quasimarket.com
This site has only english content and has been running more than a year, but I got the error: "The web address isn't valid."Sunday, December 23, 2007 5:36 PM -

same exact problem(s) here - tried using both IE and Firefox.
If I enter http://*.com (in either or both of the url and sitemap form spaces) the form strips the "http://" and throws a "The web address isn't valid." error.Monday, December 31, 2007 2:38 PM -
The same thing happened when I try to add my site - http://www.polywjphotos.uni.cc/. Can someone from Microsoft offer assistance?
EDIT: It works now.Thursday, February 7, 2008 6:12 PM
