windows 7 professional 64 bit non - genuine message RRS feed

  • Question

  • It is very genuine and there is a genuine COA sticker on the computer. Microsoft Security Essentials is installed, but will not run anymore. Any help at getting this windows re-activated and free and clean of mal-ware would be good

IE 32 bit or 64 bit will not run, Firefox will not run, Chrome will not run, the computer no longer appears on the home network. MGADiag.exe will not run even from a flash drive on this computer. Will MGADiag.exe run from safe mode??

It will - although it won't give us all the information we need.
You really need to sort the malware infection out first.
Boot to Safe Mode with Networking,
    Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (www.malwarebytes.org )
update it if you can - then run a Full System scan in your usual user profile, and a quick scan in every other profile.
    delete anything it finds.
    see if that helps

  • In order to receive the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 . Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
