New Parameter In DbSyncProvider.OnApplyingChanges() Method RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am in the process at looking at upgrading code and applications from 2.0 to 2.1. We have a subclass of DBSyncProvider that raises the OnApplyingChanges event. This presents a problem:

In version 2.0 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.synchronization.data.relationalsyncprovider.onapplyingchanges(v=sql.105)), the event OnApplyingChanges has one parameter.

in version 2.1 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff928612) has an additional parameter: Transaction.

I cannot find any documentation on this that explains its usage.

I wonder if it is for use with Oracle databases since there is a new method CreateApplicationTransaction() - "When overridden in a derived class, enables an explicit transaction to be created in which to apply changes to an Oracle database."

If I just pass it through from my event handler, what should the consumer do with this?

Anybody got any help on this?
