Laptop" Dell Inspiron 8600, Running off battery or power pack. Windows XP Pro SP 3
Weeks ago when the computer was started, on occasion, it would not display. Turn off and back on and all is well.
THEN: Screen came up during Windows load. Welcome screen on and bright. Then as desktop loads, the screen goes black. By shining a flashlight on it at an angle I read a message "Run a dll as an app encountered a problem and at one time displayed "Inverter detection test fail".
I can work the mouse and the computer works perfectly when the light is shined on it but I can barely see the screen.
Did a full system scan with Bit Defender and MalwareByte with no results.
Ran a SFC /ScanNow and nothing showed up as bad.
On occasion the computer will work normally but not that often anymore.
