32-bits vs. 64-bits in separate computers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sync greetings!

I have a set of files (currently 2300+, but this will grow up to 3000+ soon) that I want to echo from my computer (Vista 32) to a network storage and from there to my wife's laptop (Vista 64):

    1. In my computer, I have an echo where left=computer, right=NAS.
    2. In the laptop, another echo, left=NAS and right=laptop.

Step 2 is not working, ST simply hangs.

"Also note that running side-by-side installations of 32-bit and 64-bit SyncToy 2.0 RTM versions is not recommended or supported."

In this context, does "side-by-side" means "in the same sync flow" or "in the same machine"?

    Thanks,

    Fred

  • Hi -

Side -by-side here meant on the same machine. On the other hand - we have had ST users report problems with file corruptions using NAS drives so you should not use this for backup till we release our next version.

    Thanks
