PowerEdge SC440 and WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I found a great deal at Dell.com on a  PowerEdge SC440 at $230 to my door. It has a gigabit nic and will accomodate 4 SATA drives and has all the 2003 drivers. I have 2 750 gig drives to install. I am not using the drive included.

I was going to build something a bit fancier, but my question is.

will home server take advantage of anything over a 800mhz front side bus?

    Thanks

For anyone interested in the hardware (I hope this is appropriate)

  • WHS won't care much about the FSB speed. For the best installation experience, and little if any impact on real world performance, configure your SATA controller to run in IDE mode.
