when you start instilation it just stays saying checking for updates and then cleaning up your sytem

  when i start the instilation, it says checking for updates and just doesent change, i then restarted it and it then moved to cleaning up your system and stayed like it for about 2 and  half hours when i gave up and turned of my computer. i dont know what else ot do. i have norton anti virus, but i disabled that for that for the instilation and it still wont work.
