OneCare Renewal

Question

When attempting to renew, I am being asked for a 12 or 25 character pin number which I cannot locate. Where do I locate this pin number so that I can renew?

When you proceed through the renewal process, you are given the choice to provide/confirm your payment information or provide a retail product key/PIN. If you selected the option to renew with a PIN, that assumes that you have a retail CD in your possession that includes a key inside the box that has never been used to activate a subscription to OneCare.

When I do as you instructed me Steve, I am taken to a page that asks for a prepaid Pen information. I have no number on any material that I have that will fit into the boxes. Everything I put in is rejected.
When I open OneCare there is a box in the lower left hand corner that gives my expiration date and underneath there is a link maked renew now. When I click that, I am taken to a page that asked for my "Live ID" password. After entering the password, I am then transported to a page that titled "Enter Payment Information" below that it asks for "Prepaid PIN Information" consisting of 12 or 25 characters. I do not have anything on any of the material I have that fits into those categories.
I would like to have my subscription renewed before its 8/25/08 expiration.

Bill, are you using a beta of OneCare?
I was able to duplicate your situation by clicking renew for a beta account that I have, but when I click renew for a paid subscription under a different LiveID, I get the choice to pay or use a PIN as the FAQ describes.
When you go to http://billing.microsoft.com to view your OneCare subscription status, what is the plan description?

Yes it is the perpetual Beta version.

Bill, you need to sign on to Microsoft Connect with your LiveID for the beta to see instructions regarding renewal within 30 days of expiration.
Note also that there is a private newsgroup for discussion of the perpetual beta - information about that can also be found on Connect. Any discussion of the perpetual beta in the forums is off topic - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=372863&SiteID=2

Thanks Stephen. I was confused by the dialogue box that gave the date of expiration and the Renew Now link.Tuesday, June 24, 2008 4:29 PM
