Question
-
I switched to an SSD drive and after about three weeks a message popped up that says my copy of windows is not genuine and I should try to validate it. Well I did, and now it's "confirming" that it's not genuine and wants me to buy windows 7.
Here's the report given after running MGADiag. I see some "tampered files" near the bottom, but don't know what caused it. Any help would be appreciated, thank-you.

I looked at several threads you had resolved this issue for other users - I noticed some users were asked to download the iata_enu.exe rather than the iata89enu.exe file. I ran that and all is well. Thanks for your thread and for your help.

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Matrix Storage Technology drivers -
Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here -
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=17882
(you want the IATA89ENU.exe download)
Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

I have done this several times over the past two days.
The catroot2 folder contains 2 empty folders and a dberr.txt file with those lines repeating over and over again:

I looked at several threads you had resolved this issue for other users - I noticed some users were asked to download the iata_enu.exe rather than the iata89enu.exe file. I ran that and all is well. Thanks for your thread and for your help.

That does indeed look OK - I'm a little surprised, simply because your BIOS date is prior to what I thought was the initial release of the IRST drivers, while the one that I pointed you at was the proper one for what I thought you would have had (the Matrix Storage Drivers)
Whatever, you seem to have got there! :)
Well done!
