Resolve a lot of syncing issues... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a lot of syncing conflicts (5000 at least) and it's quite long to solve them one by one...

I have seen that there is a lot of SQL compact database in the folder C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Live Mesh\GacBase\Store folder and also an "holding aera" folder...

Is there a way to solve them all by deleting the items in a DB and the files in the holding aera ?

    Thx by advance !

  • The bad news is that there is no easy way to resolve conflicts and they need to be done one at a time. The good news is that the Live Mesh team knows this and will be addressing this in a future version. The bad news is that it does not help you.

One possible solution is to remove the folder from your Mesh, manually copy the files to the destination folder and then add the folder back to the Mesh. Since the files will be the same in both locations, when you merge the existing folder and the source folder in the Mesh, you should not have any conflicts after Mesh analyzes the files offered and the local files - which can take a bit of time for lots of files.

  • Any word on when we might see a new build that fixes some of the errors and and conflicts that some have posted about?

Not a peep, officially. Speculation that I've seen on the rumor/news sites is that it may be part of the Windows Live Wave 4 beta expected early in 2010. Microsoft has been very tight-lipped about the anticipated beta release for Wave 4 and even what's included.
