A significant number of answers are non-helpful RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am frankly appalled at the number of answers in these forums which are at best insignificant and at worst insulting.  If someone receives 20,000 points by being a troll telling people they have asked stupid questions then that person needs to be told not to do that.

I can't stand it when someone replies with a condescending attitude simply because the person asking is new to the PARTICULAR problem which they are trying to solve. I very rarely receive a complete answer.  Most people who answer read the title and the first 3 words of the question and then tell you that you are in the wrong forum.

  • Thanks very much for this feedback Jerry.  I think it helps us all when we have members who act civil to eachother, who dont always need to reply, and who give credit when it is due.

I'm going to move this post to the Forums Feedback forum as its more appropriately located there.

    Thanks!

    Mike

OMG.  I cringed when I read that post captioned in the screenshot.

What callous audacity.  And this comes a full day after I transcribed your paragraph into his (Bender's) own personal thread.

...actually four days, if you count the first one on 8/15 which was deleted.

  • Oh.

So that's what it takes to get you guys at fissues to look at this stuff?

    Then look at this.

It is a recent example of how a visitor politely asked an innocent question about floating-point, and was jumped by MVPs.  Plus some kicks from a few other high-scorers here.  A true Clockwork Orange that was.

  • Thanks Mike,  I actually would request that this thread be deleted. There is no purpose for it to remain.
