Windows 7 Professional , Getting the same message about this copy of Windows 7 is not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm going to ask this same question that I saw posted by another member. Why is it every so often my computer gets a message that the copy of Windows that I am running isn't genuine? I really don't remember how I resolved this problem when it happened but I think I will give the answer that was given to that member a try and see if it doesn't help the situation. I really can't afford to buy another copy of Windows and/or the product keys to make it genuine. I will let you know if it doesn't work.

By chance that this doesn't work, is there something else that I might try, just in case? I'll thank you in advance. Ms. Christine Aleprete

Oh, by the way, can someone tell me how after I click on Copy in the MAG diagnostic tool, how do you paste it in where your post is? I'm pretty good at doing things on the computer but this is one of those things that I must've missed in my computer classes. Please help me! I can't stand to see this "not genuine" message pop up in my program manager any longer, thanks.

  • To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once downloaded, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.
Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.

  • I have this same problem I did a factory reset on my laptop and wanted to download and reinstall my window to try to correct a problem I am having with updates. When I enter my windows product key it shows to be an invalid number. I did the process you listed above but this will not let me post a copy until my account is verified

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
