Resolution output RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

After reading many of the previous forum questions, am I right to conclude that, for example...

    - if I stitch together (say) 12 scans originally done at 300dpi (in any format jpg, png, tiff, pdf, etc etc.) the resulting stitched output from ICE, even in it's highest "superb" level in any output file format, will not produce a stitched picture that retains the 300 dpi printable resolution?

    Is that correct??

Thank you in advance to anyone who can confirm that :)

  • If you stitch regular scalar jpg/png/tiff files, and they all have the same total size (in pixels), the output images will have the same pixel count as the non-overlapping parts of the original images.  ICE uses really complicated logic however if the images aren't exactly the same size, and does not handle non-simple image formats as well though, which is often where people get into trouble.
